Chris Acker

    Over the years, Chris Acker has established himself as a highly respected band leader, director and contractor, supplying musicians for a large number and variety of acts, including everything from local to national touring acts.  Most notably, Chris is proud to serve as local pit musician contractor for all touring Broadway shows presented by Omaha Performing Arts.  Musicians and clients alike can be assured of the utmost in preparation, communication, and quality.

    Chris maintains a busy career as a professional trombonist in both the Jazz and Classical realms, and has played with such groups and performers as Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, The Four Tops, The Temptations, Steve Allen, Rich Little, The Supremes, Lesley Gore, Lou Christie, Frankie Valli, Nebraska Jazz Orchestra and many more.  Chris was a long time co-producer and musical director of Rave On! A Tribute to Buddy Holly, a nationally acclaimed touring show, and has served as music director for The Nebraska Shakespeare Festival.

    In addition, he is a noted studio musician, composer, arranger, conductor, and educator. Chris received a Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.  Most recently, Chris served as long time President of the Omaha Musicians’ Association, making notable changes and working diligently for the betterment of all things ‘musician’. Currently, Chris is co-owner and audio producer at Mixing Room Studios, an audio post-production studio.

    Above all else, he loves and adores his amazing wife Kristin and his sons Colin and Casey!
