Chris Acker maintains a busy career as a professional trombonist in both the Jazz and Classical realms. He is musical director and business manager of Extra Space Music (including the Omaha big Band, Extra Space Jazz, the Solid Brass Quartet, and Rave On!), and has played with such groups and performers as The Four Tops, The Temptations, Steve Allen, Rich Little, The Supremes, Lesley Gore, Lou Christie, Opera Omaha, Mannheim Steamroller, Nebraska Jazz Orchestra, The Omaha Community Playhouse, and a national Broadway tour of Anything Goes. As co-producer and musical director of Rave On!, Chris has recently toured throughout the nation performing in venues from theaters in Albuquerque to Pops concerts with the Orlando Philharmonic.

In addition, he is a noted studio musician, composer, arranger, conductor, and educator. Chris received a Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Currently, Chris is chief audio engineer at Editech, an audio & video post production studio, and serves as President of the Omaha Musicians Association.
